Carlos R. Robles

Carlos R. Robles, SIOR, joined Newmark Knight Frank in 2019 as the firm’s managing director market leader in Central America. Based in Costa Rica, Mr. Robles and his team, provide comprehensive brokerage, property management, valuation and advisory services to clients in key Central American markets, including Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. 

A 17-year industry veteran, Mr. Robles specializes in market analysis, investment and brokerage. He previously served for three years as president of Newmark Grubb Central America, an NKF affiliate also based in Costa Rica. 

Throughout his career, Mr. Robles has been involved in real estate transactions (selling, purchasing, leasing and investment structuring) totaling more than 40 million square meters (430 million square feet) in various real estate different markets, including office, retail, industrial, multifamily, and hotel and resort. His clients have included Booking.com, Bticino, Chevron, Citibank, Cummins, Novartis, RIU Hotels, Scotiabank, Sony Music and Walmart, among others. 

Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank in late 2015, Mr. Robles served as the representative in Costa Rica for NAI Global. He received that firm’s President’s Award in 2012 and Best Office Award in 2010. Mr. Robles began his career as a real estate consultant in 2002, when he founded MerKapro S.A., a consulting and private real estate fund. 

Mr. Robles is the first and to date only Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS® (SIOR) designee in Central America. The SIOR designation is a professional achievement for highly qualified commercial real estate practitioners with a strong transactional history in brokerage, fee-based services, or executive management.

Additionally, Mr. Robles is a member of the board of directors of Yamaha Motors in Costa Rica.
